Six symbols, three reels, every face equally likely: 216 lines. Of those, 21 pay, and they pay 205 chips for every 216 staked — the machine keeps 5.1 per cent of everything that goes through it, forever. The street window pulls at one chip; the cabinet takes a stake of 1, 5, or 25 and pays in proportion, so the percentage never moves — a bigger stake only makes the same arithmetic happen to you faster. That is not a secret, an estimate, or a promise about your luck. It is arithmetic, and it is in the source of this page.
